I constructed this image in 2004 using the first cheap biro that came to hand, then scanned the drawing and did the colouring in Photoshop.

I like the bleak colours, angular architecture and the shading style of the biro.

Vectorism Volume 7 has certainly been the most popular of the series, largely due to being awarded Daily Deviation at deviantART. It is also the most polished and detailed of the series. Vectorism 7 was the first of my pieces to extensively use lighting and shading (via gradients) to give the form more life and depth. When printed in a large format this image has a lot of impact, and the details which don’t really show up on screen contribute a lot more to the piece.
